It seems like everyone likes quick, simple recipes, especially young mamas!
And so, here is my quick, simple recipe for barbequed meat balls-and thay are delish!
My 3 and 5 year old enjoy helping to form the balls. I know, that isn’t always the quickest way, but it’s fun. The 3 yr. old makes little balls and calls them baby meat balls:) Those are the ones he likes to eat at the table then! No, it may not be the quickest way, but it is the best way!
When I’m in a really big hurry I use this as a meat loaf. Simply spread the meat mixture in a pan and spread the sauce on top.
And when you’re in a really, REALLY, big hurry, simply use bbq sauce out of a bottle!
2lbs. ground beef 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup oatmeal 2 eggs
1 cup milk or tomato juice 1/2 teas. garlic pwd.
1 1/2 teas. salt 1/2 teas. chili pwd.
Mix all ingredients together really well, then roll into balls. Place into a 9x13 inch pan.
Sauce: 2 cups ketchup 1 tsp. chili pwd.
1 c. brown sugar or 3/4 c. maple syrup 1/2 teas. pepper
1/2 teas. garlic pwd.
Mix sauce ingredients and pour over meat balls. Bake uncovered for 1 hr. at 350. or until done.
If you like lots of sauce, you can make a recipe and half ,or double the recipe.
Enjoy! Louise
